The Waterford crystal factory was original founded in 1783 and it produced extremely fine crystal that became world-renowned. It closed in 1851, but its reputation for quality crystal lingered on to such an extent it was reopened in 1947. The factory enjoyed a further 60 years of producing superior crystal formed and designed by master craftsmen. To own a piece of Waterford is to own a piece of Irish heritage.
